Rid yourself of guilt by listening to your conscious. Schwartz explains that guilt is toxic and can have a significant effect on your confidence. Sit in the front row. Speak up in meetings.
And smile at people. These may seem like little things, but they add up and work towards building your confidence. But how exactly do you think big? The first thing you need to do is stop selling yourself short. Remember that you are better than you think. Stop with the self-doubt. Schwartz emphasises the importance of using a positive vocabulary.
Words that are positive and promising. Thinking big requires the ability to stretch your own vision.
As Schwartz explains, you should concentrate on what can be, not just what is. Remain open-minded and look for new approaches and new ideas. Schwartz believes that you should ask yourself a few questions every day. Even if the improvements seem minuscule they will add up over time.
Reflect on what you are currently doing and identify how you can improve. Get stimulated. Associate with people who can help you think of new ideas, new ways of doing things.
Mix with people of different occupational and social interests. Some environments are going to encourage you and lift you up, while others are likely to hold you back. This is particularly relevant when you consider the people you surround yourself with. These people will hold you back and encourage defeatist thinking. Instead, surround yourself with successful people, people who are successful.
And ask them for advice.
Circulate in new groups. Discover new and stimulating things to do. Go first class in everything you do. People respond well to other people with good attitudes, display yours through your smile, handshake, voice, words, and your walk.
Walking with your head held high and a smile on your face may sound silly but it does wonders for your positive attitude. When talking to people, broadcast the good news, not the bad. Show them appreciation and make them feel respected. In doing this, people are much more likely to help you out and do things for you. Make it a rule in everything you do: give people more than they expect to get.
Consider what you like in a person and ensure that you are being that person. Build friendships and relationships wherever you can.
And when meeting new people, ensure that you learn their name. Something we all need to remember that everyone is different and nobody is perfect. Ensure that they get to share their point of view and opinions. Ask questions and encourage them to share as much as possible. In doing this, they will be much more receptive to you. The reality is, there never is a perfect time, things always come up.
Schwartz also wants us to remember that ideas are only ideas. They have no value until you action them. By doing the exact things that you fear, your fear will disappear and your confidence will actually grow.
In order to be someone who takes action, you have to shift your mindset and adjust your thinking. Always be thinking of the right now. Instead, become someone who starts right now. Think BIG. Use words that promise victory, hope, happiness and pleasure: Use big, positive cheerful words and phrases to describe how you feel; Use bright, cheerful, favourable words and phrases to describe other people; Use positive language to encourage others; and Use positive words to outline plans to others.
Stretch your vision to see always what can be, not what is.
How can I do a better job? What can I do to encourage my employees? Encourage others to talk; Test your own views in the form of questions; and Concentrate on and really listen to what others say. Harness and develop ideas: Write good ideas down as soon as you have them; File and review your ideas regularly — keep those with promise, prune those without; Think about your best ideas often, tie them together, read around them and investigate all angles; Develop and make your ideas tangible by working through them on paper; and Put your ideas into action as soon as they ripen.
Think Like a Leader.
One of the best ways to think big is to always think like a leader, no matter who you are. To do so: Trade minds with the people you want to influence — inhabit their perspective and ask how you would react if treated in the same way; Think: What is the human way to handle this?

Your future life is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The line above is, in fact, the title of the first chapter and in this chapter, you will find out exactly how you can develop the power of belief. You have to think big and believe in your ability to succeed in order to live big in happiness, big in accomplishment, big in income, big in friends, big in respect.
Excusitis is a disease born from covertness or wrong choices. At first, you may know that you are just lying to yourself. But a lie repeated over and over becomes an inner truth.
In the end, you are one with your own lie and strongly believe that this defines you. Finally, you may conclude that the success is just a fairy tale written for somebody else. And, the sad part is that the human brain seems to be built to create excuses. However, to achieve big dreams, thinking big is just not enough you have to cure yourself of excuses, the failure disease.
The second and the third chapter will help you to identify and get rid of all the excuses that hold you back and prevent you from executing on your big ideas. Our desire to be successful will be fulfilled only if we think big, express ourselves fearlessly, find a meaningful work in which we can win admiration, inspire and get inspired, contribute to our community and being looked up to by people in business and social life.
